GIF Images with eXodus
Question:
How do I make GIF images with Ferret from my Macintosh running eXodus?
Solution:
Ferret creates a GIF by drawing the image on your screen and thenrequesting it back from the X server, for example eXodus. For Ferret to create gif images with the FRAME/FILE=~your_file~.gif
command,eXodus has to be configured to produce pseudo-color 256-bit colorimages.
On the eXodus 7.0 Settings menu, choose Server Settings, click onScreens, then Advanced Settings, then choose 256 Colors from the Colorsbox. Press the OK buttons as you exit the dialog boxes. Note thateXodus must do a reset, thus killing your X clients, before it canimplement the new settings, so save what you need to before startingthis process.
